For over 50 years National Small Business Week has recognized the impact and importance of small businesses, both public and private, on the economy. The 2019 Small Business Week is May 5-11th.
The U.S Small Business Administration (SBA) will host a variety of events throughout the week. For more information about the events and history of National Small Business Week visit www.sba.gov.
According to SmallBizTrends.com, “Women own close to 10 million American small businesses. And minorities and veterans make up 29% and 10% of those owners respectively.”
There are many ways to celebrate small business week. Here are a few to consider:
- Share your story and why you started your business.
- Support a small business owner by utilizing their services or shopping.
- Know someone who has their own business? Thank or recognize them.
- Spread the word by sharing your favorite small businesses.
