What was the inspiration behind your business?
Miranda’s Creatives, LLC was created after I discovered that I was inflicted with PTSD and had to find a different venue to earn an income for my family. I had a strong sales and marketing background with a business degree. I made many mistakes, too fast-too much-too slow-too. But I knew I would find a special niche where my talents would shine. I learned early on of how to select a support staff, invested in high-quality software, purchased used equipment and with a business card in hand. I was ready. Eight years later, I have discovered new talents, new passions, and a creativity that I would never have ventured into without taking the risk of an Entrepreneur. After hundreds of professional videos and photography, I noticed a pattern of my clients not posting their videos. At first, I felt that my team did not get their “story” however it was not that at all. My clients were not happy with their appearance, delivery and what they said. With my Master’s in Education, I immediately developed Red Carpet Academy-Complete Camera Confidence DIY course and Red Carpet Institute-Complete Camera Confidence Online Courses.

What are your business’ values? How do they align with your personal values?
Self-Improvement.
Integrity.
Idealism.
Courage.
Honesty.
Unselfishness.
Self-Discipline.
Self-Respect.
My personal values include above but also not to overextend myself. The self-respect was a long time coming. I used to give away my services to prove my skillsets. With the short break after my stroke, I reevaluated my personal and professional values. I closed services that were not up to standards and quality. Invested in personal and professional development. And most importantly, surround me with staff who can step into my role at any time, due to being differently abled.
How/Why did you choose your business name?
A bit vain I guess. My family name “Miranda” has a long history. I grew up in Belen, NM and our surname was well knows. My grandparents created a million dollar business from nothing. Thus, Miranda was easy. The Creatives came after Miranda’s Rights and Miranda’s Kiss. Both did not suit the agency I wanted to build. And since we created unique services I thought Creatives would work. Funny though. Not until three years ago, did I re-emerge Miranda’s Creatives, LLC due to applying for Certifications.
What do you love most about your work?
Using all facets of Miranda’s Creatives from the intuitive side to the business acumen. My favorite part is being witnessed to the confidence and the growth of personal and professional developments. As videos are here to stay, watching our clients exude confidence and their trajectory into their “Celebrity” status.
What is the biggest challenge in running your own business?
Many lonely hours. This is why when I moved to San Diego, Sherry Strothers recommended Hera Hub. And I have never looked back. Living in Arizona gives me the opportunity to continue with the “Hub” and my services allows me to travel where Orange County and San Diego are readily available.
What are your/your business’ goals for the future?
To grow Red Carpet Media Services nationwide with Directors. Possibly franchise. I am stepping into my own persona as the Official Lipstick Reader and recently have read the lips of Tori Spelling, Karina Smirnoff, Patty Stanger and others. I will continue with both sectors as both compliment one other. And one day will be a life member of the “Million Dollar Club’.
What advice would you give to a new entrepreneur?
Find your special niche. Focus on one service/product at a time. Hire the best coaches for professional development. Utilize SCORE and mentorships offered at major cities. Don’t quit your day job unless you have Plan B and seed money. Never put your home up as collateral. And believe in yourself.
