What an amazing year it has been for Black Female Founders (#BFF)! It was so exciting earlier this week to hear about all of their successes over the past year! Congratulations to Erin Horne McKinney, Xina Eiland, Sibyl Edwards and Melissa Bradley for taking a dream and making it a reality! What a great community they are building!
They had many accomplishments over the past year, but some of the most recent are Sibyl’s recognition by Essence Magazine for their “Woke 100 Women.” Also, three of their members, Elizabeth Lindsey, Kellee James and Charlene Brown won awards at WeWork’s Creater Award in March. Charlene was also the winner of our SBA InnovateHER Business Pitch Competition we co-sponsored with Springboard Enterprises, Fosterly, the Dingman Center at UMD and, of course, Black Female Founders, earlier this month. She will move forward to compete to be one on of the 10 national finalists!
Big announcement for the upcoming year is the start of their #BFF Labs! Such a wonderful way to support their growing community!
I’m honored to be considered one of their #BFF Supporters!
