A Seattle native, Lisa began her professional art career creating intricate chalkboards for area fish houses and coffee shops. Since relocating to Southern California in 2005, she has illustrated 4 books, created jaw-dropping theatre sets, award-winning chalk art, and wine labels, taught countless classes, and created a doll line. She is now immersed in live event painting, capturing countless weddings and celebrations, and has exhibitions throughout Southern California.
Lisa Owen has been featured in the New York Times for her Live painting work. Her dynamic style captures the energy and magic of any celebration, allowing observers to see the artwork transform before their eyes in real time. Primarily working in acrylic, her painting style is high-energy, with bright colors and bold brush strokes.
In addition to adding magic to weddings and celebrations, Lisa’s live paintings have raised over $30,000 for local charities at auction in the last few years. Michelle’s Place Breast Cancer Resource Center, The Wounded Warrior Foundation, Charity for Charity, Inspire Kidz, Our Nicholas Foundation, The Humanity of Justice Foundation, Shakespeare in The Vines, The Theatre Foundation, Villa Chardonnay, and many more. Lisa was proud to be the Temecula Valley Balloon and Wine Festival poster artist for 2019.
