She advocates for women-owned businesses through her three San Diego based coworking spaces, exemplifying her effectiveness in improving the environment and experience of female business owners.

“I’m honored to receive this award by the SBA because they too are instrumental in supporting women in the launch and growth of their businesses,” said Felena Hanson.

Every year since 1963, the U.S. Small Business Administration takes the opportunity to highlight the impact of outstanding entrepreneurs, small business owners, and others from across the nation through National Small Business Week.

The SBA will commemorate each recipient at its annual Small Business Awards Breakfast on June 11, 2014 at the Town and Country Resort and Conference Center.
