To which location do you belong? Carlsbad
What was the inspiration behind your business?
I love connecting with new people & sharing everything that makes San Diego unique. My brokerage embraces the community & focuses on bringing attention to local business.
Who are your clients and what do you do for them?
People who live or want to live in San Diego. We strive to make the home buying or selling experience so memorable that our clients tell everyone they know about us.
What are your business’ values? How do they align with your personal values?
Connection. Communication. Community. We love technology & the ability to keep things simple in the complicated world of Real Estate makes us smile. We want to empower our clients by giving them the information whenever they need it so they can have peace of mind while making big decisions.
How/Why did you choose your business name?
The process of coming up with our name was not an easy one as it seemed like every name was already taken. 1850 Realty was in a way re-born. 1850 was the year that San Diego became a county & it’s the same year California took its statehood. Since I’m a native to the area, the concept of when things began resonated with me & the rest is history.
What do you love most about your work?
Marketing. Being able to share our uniqueness & differentiate ourselves from a sea of competition is so exciting!
What is the biggest challenge in running your own business?
Knowing when to take off each hat. I love being an entrepreneur but it’s hard to turn it off & not work. I’ve noticed that when I do take time off that’s when I have the best ideas.
What are you/your business’ goals for the future?
Growth. We want to bring more agents into our brand. We want them to be correspondents in their perspective neighborhood & share the great things about them. Ideally, in the next six months I’d like to have agents who represent each region of the county.
What advice would you give to a new entrepreneur?
Don’t wait until everything is right to get started. You’ll learn as you go & that’s ok. Even the most successful business owners don’t have it all figured it. Follow your passion & the rest will follow.
