What was the inspiration behind your business?
I started my career out of college as a software developer and analyst building out systems for the United States Navy and pharmaceutical solutions for AARP. After completing my MBA with an emphasis in Marketing I continued to work where I was most comfortable, the technology industry.
Successfully moving up through the ranks, holding positions, ranging from, WW Director of Marketing to several successful Vice President of Marketing positions and now, a successful consultant and business owner. I have worked with numerous start-ups and restart technology companies in a variety of Tech industries including, High Performance Computing (HPC), Technology Entertainment, Medical Devices, Solutions for the Hard of Hearing, Digital Advertising, extensive experience in the Cyber Security Space and others.
Exemplar is the blend of my dual passions, for marketing and technology with the end goal of helping my clients reach their overall marketing and business success metrics. I have successfully launched 23 new technology solutions to domestic and European markets while achieving my individual success metrics.
Who are your clients and what do you do for them?
Our clients are primarily startup and re-start Technology companies. We describe a re-start company as a business once being the big fish in a little pond, now being a little fish in a very big pond.
What are your business’ values? How do they align with your personal values?
Exemplar’s core values center around our clients. Recognizing we work with start-ups and restart technology companies, we are very sensitive to ensure our pricing is fair and appropriate.
We also are passionate about how we work with our clients. There are no smoke and mirrors at Exemplar Marketing. Every service we offer and execute can be done with our clients at our side learning all aspects of our processes and expertise. Sharing the who, what, when why and HOW of our services with our clients is always there for them to watch and learn.
How/Why did you choose your business name?
Exemplar means a model or pattern to be copied or imitated. Our services at Exemplar across Product Marketing, Digital Marketing, Research and Analysis and MarketingManagement are all there to be copied and shared with our clients. All that we know, we share!
What do you love most about your work?
I would have to say obtaining those critical results and goals our clients are looking for! Our client’s success is what I love most. It’s a true high for me when the client says, “Thank you!”
What is the biggest challenge in running your own business?
Time. That said, when I consider my daily schedule, there is just not enough time in the day.
What are your/your business’ goals for the future?
We are working to successfully expand our company (consultants, contractor etc.) while ensuring we continue to deliver the quality of service critical to our client’s success!
What advice would you give to a new entrepreneur?
There are good days and bad days. But no matter how you feel, it is still your company. This brings me such a level of pride that I can’t help but smile.
