Our blog series Women in Science Rock continues with Rebecca Boudreaux, Ph.D. Rebecca is the current president of Oberon Fuels. Trained as a chemist, Rebecca Boudreaux, Ph.D. is an entrepreneurial, technology executive with a unique blend of technical skills and business development expertise. In 2004, Dr. Boudreaux co-founded Intezyne Technologies and served as CFO for four years and as a member of the company’s Board of Directors. She has co-authored six peer-reviewed publications and is a co-inventor on eight patent applications.
Rebecca’s love for science began in high school. The labs and experiments from that class inspired her to become a science or math major in college. During graduate school she started her own Biotechnology company. After she sold her stake in that company, she started a consulting company. Eventually she joined Oberon Fuels when the company was just 5 months old. Oberon Fuels creates a cleaner diesel fuel alternative.
Rebecca would tell the future generation of female scientists to take opportunities, such as internships or shadowing friends parents. You never know where those opportunities could lead you.
