Felena Hanson sat down with Lara Worm, to discuss the Bivouac Ciderworks startup story.
Native San Diegan and third-generation hospitality entrepreneur, Lara Worm, has an untraditional path to entrepreneurship. Raised in the food and beverage industry in San Diego, Lara took a different path and pursued a law degree at the George Washington University Law School, clerked for a judge in Washington, DC, and then served as an Assistant United States Attorney for 10 years, prosecuting homicides and major narcotics cases in Washington, D.C. and then San Diego. By a twist of fate, Lara re-entered the craft beverage and hospitality industry, co-founding Bivouac Ciderworks, craft cider for active adventurers, and operating Bivouac’s accompanying hospitality concepts in San Diego. Combining her love for cider, adventure, and women’s empowerment, Lara has built a brand that appeals to outdoor adventurers, foodies, and feminists alike. Bivouac’s handcrafted ciders feature exciting flavors that taste just as great at the top of a mountain as they do with a fine meal.
