Mala Subramaniam, Hera Hub member and author, discusses what inspired and went into her nearly released book, “Beyond Wins: Eastern Mindset for Success in Daily Business Negotiations.” Mala had worked for top name companies like Dun & Bradstreet and Chase Manhattan in influential marketing roles before training people in public speaking, leadership, and soft negotiation skills.
She soon realized she hadn’t been integrating the Eastern Indian principles that had otherwise been a prominent component in her life into her professional world. Mala talks about a term she’s coined as “the chakra (or energy center) of negotiation” and the importance of maintaining its balance to achieve success in business. “Beyond Wins” delves into concepts like Eastern core behaviors, negotiating versus bargaining, and going beyond demands to recognize needs – all of which contribute to more long standing and positive business relationships and encounters.
