Hera Hub recently had a member join who specializes in anxiety. She asked Felena to share her experience with anxiety for a study she is currently working on. After doing a little research, Felena was shocked by the effect anxiety has on America. There are 40 million people in the United States who suffer from anxiety. Anxiety costs government about $42 billion a year.
After being asked to help with the study, Felena thought about anxiety and how it has affected her. She realized anxiety has never been on her radar. In college would be stressed, but never anxious. Felena’s not even sure if she’s experienced anxiety.
She started to think why would that not be? Why would she not experience anxiety.
Felena believes there are two reasons why she may not suffer from anxiety. First is her grandfather’s advice to “only worry about the things you can control.” She is able to think about that in almost any situation. She believes there is no way to control how someone feels or their reaction to something, so why worry about it. You can only worry how you will react to things, so don’t waste your time worry about how someone else will react.
The second reason why Felena believes she doesn’t suffer from anxiety is something she has learned from personal experience. She believes the right thing will always happen. She believes that in her heart. After many ups and downs, she is able to see what is meant to happen will happen. At every juncture she takes a step back and looks at the situation. She believes the right thing will ultimately happen. This mindset has helped her not experience anxiety.
