Last week Felena had the opportunity to have an interview with San Diego’s first female Police Chief, Shelley Zimmerman.
Police Chief Zimmerman described how she ended up in sunny San Diego from Ohio. She went through her one of her first cases where she went undercover at a local San Diego high school to put a stop to the drug dealing and drug use that was happening on the campus.
After 30 years with the San Diego Police Department, Shelley was named police chief. She is the first female police chief for San Diego County, and only one of eight female police chiefs in all major cities in the United States.
Shelley hopes to lead by example and to encourage women that they can do anything a man can do. Watch Police Chief Shelley Zimmerman’s entire interview below!
