Global Entrepreneurship Week is a massive campaign to celebrate and empower entrepreneurs in every country and community around the world – especially those individuals who face structural barriers or may have never considered the idea of launching their own startup.

Global Entrepreneurship Week is powered by the Kauffman Foundation, a diverse collection of national host organizations in 180+ countries and 25,000 local partner organizations. More info at: https://www.genglobal.org/gew/about

In honor of Global Entrepreneurship Week, we are thrilled to highlight the work of two of our fellows from around the world – Fatin Jamjuree & Sanja Gardašević.

These two fellows came to us through a US State Department exchange program that’s facilitated locally by the San Diego Diplomacy Council. Learn more below the video

Here is Felena Hanson’s interview with two of our recent fellows. Learn more about Fatin & Sanja below.

The Professional Fellows Program (PFP) is a two-way, global exchange program designed to promote mutual understanding, enhance leadership and professional skills, as well as build lasting, sustainable partnerships between mid-level emerging leaders from foreign countries and the United States.  PFP participants are placed in intensive 5-6 week fellowships in non-profit organizations, private sector businesses, and government offices across the United States for an individually tailored professional development experience.  They build a broad network with American and other program participant colleagues as they develop a deeper understanding of U.S. society.  The PFP is a two-way exchange, with American participants who have hosted foreign fellows traveling overseas for participant-driven reciprocal programs.

Fatin Jamjuree is a program manager at the Network of Civic Women for Peace, based in Pattani, Thailand. She works to empower women affected by conflict to start their own entrepreneurial ventures in local communities. She also collaborates with various stakeholders in her community, including local authorities, educational institutions, media organizations, and other local CSOs, both in the Deep South and other regions of Thailand. She believes that women must have the ability to control their own lives.

Sanja Gardašević is a visionary leader and entrepreneur, recognised as the Best Executive of a Micro-Company in Montenegro by the Association of Montenegrin Managers in 2021. She continues this work through her volunteer efforts with Digitalizuj.me, a digital community driving social change in Montenegro.
