Felena Hanson “virtually” sat down with Gioia Messinger to discuss the sale of two of her businesses, to Kaiser and NetGear.

Gioia Messinger is an accomplished venture-backed executive focused on innovation and market disruption. She has extensive background in Internet of Things (IoT), robotics, AI and digital health as Founder/CEO, board member, consultant and venture capital advisor. She founded and currently serves as principal of LinkedObjects, Inc., a strategic advisory services firm focused on digital transformation brought about by AI and IoT. Messinger also founded and served as CEO of Avaak, Inc., now Arlo Technologies (NYSE:ARLO), the award-winning video security system for the smart home that defined the category and is now the market leader. Prior to Avaak, she founded and served as CEO of an early-stage technology firm and helped develop the first wireless endoscopic capsule or PillCamTM.

Currently, Gioia is a member of the Board of Directors of One Stop System, Inc. (NASDAQ:OSS), a provider of high-performance computers for AI and other applications, and serves as a board member and advisor of several private technology firms. Ms. Messinger is also a member of the Council of Advisors at UC San Diego Jacobs School of Engineering. She previously served on the Board of Directors of Vicon Industries, Inc. (NYSE:VCON).

In 2018, she was a judge for the Anu and Naveen Jain Women’s Safety XPRIZE, a $1M global competition to develop technologies to ensure the safety of women. Previously, she served as Chief Judge for the Qualcomm Tricorder XPRIZE, a $10 million competition to bring healthcare to the palm of your hands and as a judge for the Nokia Sensing XCHALLENGE, a competition to transform medical sensors.

Gioia earned her BS/MA degrees in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the University of California, San Diego and her MBA from the Paul Merage School of Business at the University of California, Irvine.
