National Inventors’ Day is Tuesday, February 11th. The day honors inventors throughout history, and encourages future inventors. The date was chosen to honor the birthday of Thomas Alva Edison, who is considered one of the most prolific inventors in history. Edison invented the light bulb, phonograph, and motion picture projector.
Maggie Teske, a pediatric occupational therapist, shared her journey to becoming an inventor, focusing on her work with children and her idea for a handheld toy to teach deep breathing techniques. She discussed her experience with 3D printing, creating prototypes, and her ongoing work with an engineer in Egypt. The interview also highlighted the importance of mindfulness and the power of breathing in stress relief, with Maggie expressing her pride in working full-time on her invention.
