Recently around the Hub (aka Hera Hub Phoenix), we’ve been discussing the UN’s Sustainability Goals and how we affect and impact them. Some of the top goals revolve around women and many of the goals are in areas that women business owners, entrepreneurs and professionals especially delve into through their work, their business, or even their nonprofit involvement. A few weeks ago at the book launch for Love & Fear, Shantinee Munthree discussed not only the UN’s 17 goals, but also made a call for action for all women to pick one goal that they will help contribute to transform the world. These 17 goals are listed below.
In light of these goals and the impact women have on the world, the UN also launched the WE Empower Challenge for all women businesses worldwide—and its supported by ASU’s School of Sustainability–our own neighbors!! The WE Empower Challenge is a global business competition for women entrepreneurs who are advancing the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals and inspiring entire communities to create the world we want by 2030. Their goals are to honor, invest and ignite the change that women entrepreneurs and business owners have around the globe. This is something many of us know, and we speak much about at the hub. If you want to join the challenge and know of other women who are working night and day to transform the world, encourage them to apply. Let’s all honor, invest and ignite women worldwide!!
