Are you interested in being in the Hot Seat?

The Global Writing Challenge is about to launch and the Professional Writers, Editors, and Publishers (Pro-WEP) sub-hub would like to open the opportunity up to the entire Hera Hub community (you don’t have to be a member of Pro-WEP to participate) to sit in the hot seat and get feedback from your peers.

How it works:

If you are interested in having a piece of your writing included for feedback please reach out to me ASAP at alisha@herahub.com. We ask that if it is a book/journal that you select one chapter or passage you’d like feedback on, one blog, materials that can be read in a 15-20 minutes session. Once received…

One week prior to the meeting, group members will be provided a writing sample (i.e., blog, article, or chapter section, etc.) that she/he is working on. Other WEP members will review the work in advance and during the monthly meeting discuss the piece and offer positive/constructive feedback on the work.

How do I sign up?

Members can sign up directly with Dr. Alisha (alisha@herahub.com), to present their work at any upcoming meeting to get feedback.. We simply ask that the writing sample be sent at least a week in advance of the meeting so I have time to distribute it to attendees, and of course for participants to have time to read it in preparation for the discussion.

Yeah, but what if there is proprietary information?

Recordings of this session will only be accessible to Hera Hub members. In addition we’ll begin this meeting with a discussion to develop ground rules members would like the meeting and anything shared to be governed by. All attendees must be in agreement with abiding by these ground rules to participate. And of course, use your discretion in determining whether it’s something you’d share.

Hera Hub’s Professional Writers, Editors & Publishers Sub-Hub is for members who are professional writers in all fields as well as members who are writing a book and/or want to talk about writing for their businesses. Meetings are once a month, and vary between open discussions about writing progress, guest presentations from members, and “hot seats” where one member presents a problem or question related to writing in her business and other members ask follow-up questions and offer solutions. Welcome to any member who is looking for a supportive community of writers, is interested in learning how others make money from her writing, or wants to ask writing questions. Join the conversation, ask questions, share resources, and get to know the other writers in our Writers’ Sub-Hub Facebook group: https://www.facebook.com/groups/writerssubhub. New members always welcome!
