Equal Pay image

Equal Pay Day represents the date in the current year through which women must work to earn the same amount their male counterparts earned the previous year. According to the U.S. Census Bureau, on average, full-time working women are paid 77 cents for every dollar paid to their male counterparts. Women of color fare even worse.

This year’s Equal Pay Day luncheon, presented by Lawyers Club of San Diego, will feature City of San Diego Council President, Sherri Lightner and Joyce Rowland, Sempra Energy Senior Vice President and Chief Human Resources and Administrative Officer preceded by a United States congressional update on the issue of Equal Pay by Sarah Czarnecki, Field Representative for Congressman Scott Peters.
